Meet Dr. Tyler
Dr. Tyler is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in minimally invasive procedures to restore cardiac and vascular function. He is a Southern California native who grew up playing water polo and swimming competitively. His mom, a registered nurse, served as his inspiration for him to pursue a career in medicine with her stories about caring for patients in the cardiac intensive care unit.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and earned his medical degree at the University of California Irvine, graduating at the top of his class and earning a place in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He then traveled north to the Bay Area to complete his residency at the University of California San Francisco. He returned to Southern California to complete his fellowship training in general and interventional cardiology training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He was awarded the Eliot Corday M.D. Fellow of the Year and served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow.
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Tyler values the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with his patients. He pursued advanced training in the minimally invasive management of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and peripheral arterial disease so that he could offer his patients the state-of-the-art care for their cardiovascular disease. Dr. Tyler has authored numerous research publications and presented at national conferences on the treatment of coronary artery disease, aortic valve disease, mitral valve disease and peripheral vascular disease. He continues to be active in clinical research and trials investigating new therapies for heart disease. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing beach volleyball, surfing, exploring new restaurants and traveling abroad.
